We are now looking to supplement the team with an additional Rigging Supervisor on the Ore Handling Plant (OHP) scope of work for the BHP South Flank Project.  The South Flank deposit is located approximately 130 km by road north-west of the town of Newman, and approximately 8 km to the south of BHP's existing Mining Area C operation. The South Flank project will fully replace production from the 80Mtpa (100 per cent basis) Yandi mine which is reaching the end of its economic life.

Reporting to the Heavy Lift Superintendent, the Rigging Supervisor will be responsible for providing on-site leadership and direction for craneage and rigging activities associated with SMP erection across the project. You will be confident of your decision-making ability, demonstrating a genuine commitment to safety and a proactive approach to safety processes and practices on site.      

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing support to crane and rigging personal, ensuring site assessment of crane set up area, lift planning, utilising correct rigging methods as per Clough & BHP Lifting and Rigging procedures
  • Assisting with planning of Working at Height activities and utilisation of equipment.
  • Coordinating and managing resources to meet project specifications and production targets
  • Facilitation of daily pre-start and debrief meetings with your crew as well as regular toolbox meetings.
  • Liaising with Client lifting and rigging coordinators for inspections and sign off activities.
  • Ensuring compliance to all applicable safety codes, requirements and standards.

You should possess the following:

  • Previous Supervisory experience in a similar role, working within mining and/or construction;
  • Previous experience working on ore handling plant and screening and crushing plants construction projects.
  • Ability to build sound working relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Willingness to adapt to a 100% digital reporting process
  • Construction White/Blue Card
  • High Risk Work License (RA and CO)
  • Fire extinguisher training

* This position will be based on a 15/6 FIFO roster from Perth. *
