Clough currently have an opportunity within our core in-house Engineering team for a highly motivated and experienced I&C Engineer to provide expertise on a number of projects.

Reporting to the Discipline Manager - Electrical / Instrumentation, you are required to provide electrical engineering expertise to the project. You will ensure that all deliverables are completed in a timely manner to the required level of accuracy, the basis of design, and the terms of the contract. You will ensure that cost effective solutions are applied to meet project objectives.

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain design responsibility:
    • Prepare design documentation – Consistent with the required design input, criteria and methods, meet the Clients design criteria, Code and Standards requirements and design basis.
  • Review and approve the work from other engineers:
    • Participate in squad checks of drawings, datasheets, schedules, calculations, specifications and purchase orders from within electrical, instrumentation and control and other disciplines.
    • Ensure consistency and correctness of work.
  • Liaise with other disciplines:
    • Maintain a timely flow of interdisciplinary design information, and early identification of change.
  • Liaise with Client engineering personnel:
    • Ensure all Clients contractual objectives are understood / met and change control procedures are implemented and followed through for any Client initiated changes.
  • Liaise with Vendors:
    • Coordinate and oversee Vendors during request for quotation, bid evaluations, purchase order, kick-off meetings, package design and construction.
    • Check and approve Vendor drawings prior to construction and factory acceptance tests.
  • Liaise with other project functions:
    • Design office – Ensure that adequate drafting resources are allocated when required, and monitor production of drawings.
    • Construction and Commissioning – Ensure designs are constructible and will accommodate commissioning as required.
    • Scheduling – Develop design programs for Instrumentation & Control Engineers and interface this with the other discipline design schedules, construction schedules and the contractual milestones.
    • Procurement – Confirm the suitability of suppliers for specific items of equipment and to ensure that design intent and contractual obligations are met.
    • Quality – Ensure timely manufacture and to confirm that equipment meets the quality requirements specified.
    • Document Control – Ensure timely flow of information.

Your ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team will ensure your success in this role. Applicants are required to possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering, have attained competency for Hazardous Area related work (preferred) and have a minimum of 5 years experience (Engineer) with Onshore and/or Offshore Oil & Gas projects (preferred) or in the mining / resources sector.
