You will be responsible for design efforts (i.e. design calculations, drawings, specifications and technical review of the works, etc.) working closely with the Lead Mechanical Engineer, Principal Mechanical Engineer to ensure timely, cost effective and fit for purpose engineering and design output complying with the projects cost and schedule constraints.  

 Key responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Accountable for performance and delivery of mechanical/ piping engineering services to support project outcomes against agreed project budgets and schedules              
  • Responsible for complying with the required technically acceptable standard of work for the discipline group and producing engineering design deliverables for project execution
  • A thorough working knowledge of static equipment and / or rotating equipment for various applications
  • Problem solving capabilities                                             
  • Manage and coordinate the design effort of team reports to achieve satisfactory outcomes (project performance)                                                   
  • Work with Technical Specialists to ensure specification compliance, technical integrity of design (technical performance)                                                          
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and improvement of systems across the division
  • Manage customer relations to achieve mutually satisfactory and technical program outcomes
  • Implement initiatives for product improvement (project time scales) and exploit favorable opportunities for variations in project scope                                              
  • Commercial awareness to ensure economic and safe selection of equipment
  • Liaise with project schedulers, expeditors and QA/QC staff                                       
  • Prepare and check design documents from vendors/suppliers                                  
  • Provide construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning support to projects as required

The successful applicant will possess the following:

  • Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering -  required     
  • Professional Engineering License (PE)  -  preferred
  • Pipe Stress Analysis of Critical and non-critical Piping and Quality Checks
  • Proven skills in the detailed design of complex engineering and design projects, together with experience in manufacturing processes and principles                        
  • Proven skills working on a major project environment in a multi-disciplinary team environment, excellent communication and interpersonal skills              
  • Extensive knowledge within the subject discipline reflecting significant experience in the detailed design of complex multi-discipline projects                                         
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of 3D intelligent design and project delivery systems and procedures 
  • Experience with state of the art piping design software like Caesar II, PDS, etc.    
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant post graduate, engineering experience with contracting or consultancy organisations in the Oil and Gas, LNG, and/or petrochemical industries                                                 
  • Exposure and experience in Construction, Construction Management, Maintenance and Operations roles (greenfield and brownfield) would be well regarded
